MEMORIAL DAY MASS
Memorial Day (Last Monday of May) –11am
The souls of the just are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them.
They seemed, in the view of the foolish to be dead;
and their passing away was thought an affliction.
and their going forth from us, utter destruction.
But they are in peace.
For if before men, indeed, they be punished, yet is their hope full of immortality:
Chastised a little, they shall be greatly blessed, because God tried them and found them worthy of himself.
As gold in the furnace, he proved them, and as sacrificial offerings he took them to himself.
Those who trust in him shall understand truth, and the faithful shall abide with him in love:
Because grace and mercy are with his holy ones and his care is with his elect.
The word of the Lord.
All Souls Day Mass
All Souls Day Mass (on November 2nd) –11am
The second letter of Paul to the Corinthians:
We know that if our earthly dwelling, a tent, should be destroyed, we have a building from God, a dwelling not made with hands, eternal in heaven.
So we are always courageous, although we know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not be sight. Yet we are courageous, and we would rather leave the body and go home to the Lord. Therefore, we aspire to please him, whether we are at home or away. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive recompense, according to what he did in the body, whether good or evil.
This is the Word of the Lord.
